Well we are now at Marion Bay on the Yorke Peninsula after spending a week with friends in Mount Barker (Adelaide Hills) did intend on stopping at Ardrosson to do some crabbing but parks were booked out. Hit the water this morning for a couple of hours useing squid for bait and managed 3 good size King George Whiting and dropped a dozen they just wouldn't stay on the hook, also caught a few wrasse and Red Mullet, fillets for dinner with an entree of calimari we caught the night before.

Hello Midcoasters,
Thought I should put something up, we spent a week at Port Broughton on the Yorke Peninsula sightseeing and chasing crabs only managed a few legals 1 for every 20 caught, the people who had stinkers and could travel into the bay caught heaps of good size ones, to far to pedal.
We are now at William Creek after visiting the Flinders Ranges sightseeing, travelled up the Oodnadatta track today then off to Coober Pedy tomorrow another 170km of dirt.
Will put up fishing report when next I get to go, and yes Crok won't be going out in the yak in the NT due to your namesake.

Cheers & Beers

Thanks bones, Arpie, enjoyed eating the squid and the KG Whiting I caught using the tentacles for bait. No fishing for a bit as we are now in Alice Springs for a few days then will head further north.

Update:
Well been a while since last update but only been fishing a couple of times after heading up through SA on the Oodnadatta track then across to Coober Pedy on to Alice Springs into the West McDonnell Ranges then on up to Darwin stopping at Bitter Springs for a few days where I threw lures around but to no avail, a friend we met travelling managed a 72cm Barra at the rear of the caravan park in the lagoon. Played tourist in Darwin then came back down to Litchfield then out to the Daly river where we spent last week caught a few Barra mostly under size but did manage a 57cm and 66cm fish to be outdone by our friend Dave with a 77cm fish, it was hard work but great when you get a fish. You have to keep your fingers & toes in the boat though, the yak didn't go near the water. We also found a Barra on the bank that had its tail section bitten off by a shark the left over fish was easily 70 - 80cm so was a big fish before the bite. We are now at Adelaide River for a couple of days before heading to Kakadu area.

Update;
Well we are now in Qld after travelling south to the Three Ways then across the Barkly stopping at a few free camps, one at Camooweal at the billabong where I managed one Red claw (wrong bait). Then stayed a week in Mount Isa having a look around, left there and had a big day travelling to Corrella Dam 60km :) where we stayed a couple of days catching Red Claw paddling/pedalling and dragging some lures around for a few Spangled perch. We are now in Cloncurry then off to Winton, Hughenden area looking at fossils of dinosaurs.
