CHRISTMAS GET TOGETHER & FISH 17th DECEMBER

#1 Post by newknees2 » Tue Oct 17, 2017 4:08 pm

Yes, I know it's a little way off yet but I thought I would get in early for our Christmas get together.
Sunday, Dec 17th @ the usual spot, Belmont South next to Cold Tea Creek. Kick off @ 6.00am or when you get there & BBQ around 11am.
The club will be supplying the usual snags, rolls sauces but bring your own drinks.
Please advise if you are attending so I can get an idea how much food we will need.
Don't forget to wear your Santa hat. :blah: :blah:
Regards,
Knees.

Should be there.

***EDIT****
Have my work Christmas Party the Saturday before... and if the last 7 years are anything to go by, I'll be a scratching for a 6am start.
May try and get down for the BBQ though...

Cheers,
PF

Crock and Rocky, if you pair are going to be there I'll have to try and organise to get back. I am currently enjoying myself in NZ. Have even bought myself a Barracuda Ultra light over here. OK for the lakes, but I am having second thoughts about the rivers I get in. They say they are tough, but there is lots of fast water and plenty of rocks.

Hello everyone,
Just a reminder that the last get together for the year is on this coming Sunday.
If there is anyone coming that has not posted their intentions, please let me know so I can cater for enough snags, rolls etc.
Thanks in advance,
Knees.
P.S.
I have not had any internet for the past 7 days, sorry for the short notice.

I can't make it guys, but would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and a similar new year.

I would also like to thank all the old and new Midcoasters for their patronage this year. It's been tough getting bums on yaks, but have a few ideas to spice up our social outings in 2018. Stay tuned....

Cheers,
PF

Hi Guys

I know its been a while but have a bit of time off over Christmas and going into January for yak fishing.
Will fishing mostly around Lake Ma, inshore fishing outside Swansea Heads and will be planning yak fishing trips up to Nelson Bay and a bit further north of Newy.
I was in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago and was speaking with locals about the fishing / yak fishing scene over there.
Have contract tenders happening for 9 months worth of consulting work in Fiji so if all goes well, I plan to stay an extra week every trip over there so I can get some fishing in (Havent fished Fiji before). Not sure what the kayak fishing scene is like in Fiji but have been out in open water in wood carved outrigger canoes with the local islanders with visits to the other pacific nations.
I hope everyone has had a great year, and scored some personal bests.

Cold beers, tight lines and screaming reels

Cheers Bones

Great to hear from you bones, pity you won’t be at Belmont for a catch up. I may see you in Fiji if you are over there when I will be there (23rd May to 4th June 2018). Hope you and family have a top Christmas and New Year.

Paul might get a fish in with you before we head off into this great country of ours mid January, all the best for you and yours over Christmas and New Year. Hope the hangover on Sunday is not to bad :)

Cheers & Beers
Rocky

P.S. Pete call if you need a hand.

Hi Rocky

I hope your trip around Oz went well for you.
I will see what I can do about coming over to the Christmas party, last year I dropped in on the tail end.
Rocky there is a good chance I could see you in Fiji as I will be flying back and forth over a 9 month period if all goes well.
I have been doing a mixed bag of consulting work across defence, construction, gas & oil, mining etc, for local and international clients.
This year been a bit hectic, but have been determined make sure my work commitments going forward into Christmas and 2018 is more work life balance friendly and having weekends for kayak fishing is a big priority.
Happy to get out for a fish during the week too as my work is flexible on some days.

Cheers Bones
